Battalions of Fear é o álbum de estréia da banda alemã Blind Guardian, lançado em 1988. Em grande parte inspirado no trabalho da banda Helloween. A capa foi pintada por van Waay Design. As músicas Majesty, By the Gates of Moria e Gandalf's Rebirth fazem referência ao livro O Senhor dos Anéis de J. R. R. Tolkien. Guardian of the Blind é inspirada em um romance de Stephen King, "It". E By The Gates Of Moria no compositor tcheco Antonín Dvořák.
